Country park work gets under way

By Ellen Grindley in Planning

WORK has started on a £250,000 country park in Dawlish.

The first spade has been put in the ground to create the 65-acre park to provide a recreation area and wildlife haven.

Teignbridge planners approved proposals for the park, which will be the size of 26 rugby pitches, last year after the land was bought using money from developers known as Section 106 payments and Community Infrastructure Levy on new housing developments across three council areas of Teignbridge, Exeter and East Devon.

Work to provide the new access road and car park is now underway on site which was previously agricultural land. Read the story in this week’s paper.
