Town councillors resign over email disagreement

By Ellen Grindley in Politics

TWO Dawlish town councillors have quit over an ongoing disgreement with a fellow councillor.

Husband and wife John and Linda Petherick have both announced their resignations having been town councillors since 2011.

The decision was sparked when Mr Petherick saw an email exchange which it is claimed contained alleged derogatory comments about himself and his wife.

In his letter of resignation, he said: ‘I recently caught sight of a most unpleasant email chain. Read their story in this week’s paper, out now.
