PATIENTS and businesses in Dawlish are being given a preview of the new look Barton Surgery this Saturday from 11.30am to 3pm.
As part of the surgery’s £1million expansion, a Health Hub has been created to provide additional services including optometrist, audiologist and physiotherapist.
The new services will be located in the former Lloyds pharmacy building.
Antony Clements, GP partner at Barton Surgery, said: ‘The opening of the health hub means we are providing patients with high quality services rights on our doorstep which will reduce the stress, hassle and waiting time for patients yet still provide the same level of expertise and care.
‘The development has been a huge success and we are looking forward to welcoming patients.
‘We hope all in the local area will benefit greatly from the facilities.’
The overall expansion scheme will see a new three-storey extension to meet demand for growing patient numbers. With more than 12,500 registered patients, plus increasing numbers during the holiday season, the surgery is also gearing up to cope with the hundreds of new homes planned for Dawlish.
The extension will provide more consulting rooms as well as meeting and training areas for staff.
